Portokali started in 2007 as BQ Yachting and in 2013 the name became BQ Yachting | Beautiful Weather Sailing. Since March 1, 2021 we changed to the name Portokali. This was the name of the first sailing yacht in our fleet and means orange in Greek, the color we have used from day one for all our flags and skipper shirts.
We started out as a real family business, but now we have 9 people full time ‘in the office’. There are also a number of people working part-time behind the scenes and we have about 150 Dutch-speaking skippers and hostesses that we deploy during the sailing season.
We currently manage 16 sailing yachts + a support boat/rib in our Portokali base on the island of Aegina, in Greece. Therefore, our main sailing area, where we organize most of our sailing trips, is the Mediterranean Sea and especially Greece and Croatia. We also work with established local partners and yacht owners around the world.
