In addition to the extensive fleets of our regular partners around the world that we work with, Portokali also has its own fleet in Greece. These sailing yachts are used in our flotillas, but also as bareboat these yachts can be rented. The fleet consists of only the best quality yachts, which of course are maintained with a lot of love and care.
Currently, Portokali has 15 sailing yachts of its own. These are all from Beneteau, Bavaria, Jeanneau or Dufour: in other words, the well-known A-brands. They vary in size between 37 and 50ft (11 – 15 meters) and from 3 to 6 cabins. The oldest yacht is built in 2006, the newest in 2024 and the rest are in between. So there is a suitable yacht for everyone!
Our yachts feel most at home in the port of Aegina. This is their home port, but it is common for them to roam all over Greece. Nevertheless, they always eventually return to Aegina and so that is also the most likely place where you will start a sailing vacation on one of our yachts.
Aegina is an island just south of Athens that is easily accessible by ferry. It goes about 15 times a day, costs between €12 and €18 per person and takes about an hour. Compared to Athens, it’s an hour longer trip, but that means you start your vacation in a prime location.
In fact, Aegina is in the middle of the Saronic Gulf cruising area. Therefore, on the first and last day you do not have to make the “long crossing” to Athens, but you can explore the sailing area in small steps every day. Or, if you do want to sail a longer distance on the first day: you can immediately continue south to the Argolic Gulf. So you simply have slightly more options in terms of route.
In addition, the harbor itself is a super nice place. This is not a massive, busy port like in, say, Athens, but a cozy port with a relaxed atmosphere. Exactly the feeling you come for, when you go on vacation. Around the port is a pleasant boulevard and right next to the port is a lovely beach. So your vacation really starts from moment one.
