Are you curious about what a flotilla sailing holiday with Portokali could look like? Then read the example route below for a nice impression of the atmosphere. Please note that this is only an example route, purely to give an idea. We never have the routes of our flotillas fixed, so that we can optimally adapt to the wind and the wishes of the group. Every flotilla trip with Portokali is different and it is certainly possible to join the same flotilla several times and still discover different places. After all, there is so much beauty… You can never see it all in one go!
Gouvia Marina β Kassiopi (11 nautical miles)
We start the holiday with a nice bit of sailing towards the northeast coast of Corfu. Not too long and not too short, to get comfortable with sailing. Almost immediately when we leave the starting port we end up in Komeno Bay, a perfect place to take the first dip in the Greek water. Once dried up, we hoist the sails and the real sailing holiday begins! We end the day in the harbor of the cute village of Kassiopi.
Kassiopi β Agios Stefanos (16 nautical miles)
From the northeast coast we sail to the northwest coast of Corfu. Agios Stefanos is a very large bay, surrounded by an equally large sandy beach. In the evening we sail to shore in the dinghy to eat in one of the nice restaurants on the beach where we enjoy a beautiful sunset.
Agios Stefanos – Erikoussa (8 nautical miles)
On to a new island! Erikoussa is one of the three small islands above Corfu and is actually located more off the Albanian coast than the Greek one. A wonderfully quiet island with only a few restaurants, ideal for completely relaxing and reading a book or taking a nice walk.
Find your ideal flotilla here and request a no-obligation quote online immediately. Enter your preferences in 3 steps and we will get back to you within 24 hours with a tailor-made offer for a wonderful sailing holiday. A rental week always runs from Saturday to Saturday.
Erikoussa – Othoni (9 nautical miles) West of Erikoussa is Othoni, another sleepy little island, only about 40 nautical miles off the coast of Italy.
On Othoni is a beautiful bay to spend an afternoon snorkeling and swimming during lunch.
It’s called White Sand Beach, and that name is no lie.
A beautiful white sand beach with turquoise water and beautiful rocks.
At the end of the afternoon we sail on to the small port of Othoni. Othoni – Mathraki (7 NM) Mathraki is the smallest of the three islands and here it really seems as if time has stood still for 100 years.
A mini harbor on the east coast with almost only small fishing boats is where we moor.
A walk to the other side of the island to watch the sunset from the rocks is highly recommended.
Here you look towards Italy, across a seemingly endless sea with a small uninhabited rocky island in the foreground… Mathraki – Palaiokastritsa (12 nautical miles) After three days on small, sleepy islets, it’s time to look for a little life again.
We sail to Palaiokastritsa on the west coast of Corfu: a beautiful bay with every shade of turquoise water you can imagine.
Here we cast anchor and then dinghy to shore to find a good restaurant.
Palaiokastritsa – Paxos Lakka (33 nautical miles) Time to do some serious sailing!
We sail practically all along the west coast of the island of Corfu, to the island south of it: Paxos.
Here we go to Lakka, a town at the most northeastern point.
This is a huge bay with many boats, but where you can always find a spot.
Upon entering this bay, it is almost like sailing into a large swimming pool, so clear and blue is the water.
In the evening we eat at a restaurant with a beautiful view of the bay. Paxos Lakka – Antipaxos (8 nautical miles) Antipaxos is famous for its beautiful bays and clear waters and as soon as you get close you immediately understand why.
The water is so blue that you almost wonder if it’s not fake.
With the white beaches, beautiful cliffs and caves and an incredibly green island, it’s like ending up in a fairy tale.
We spend the night here in one of these beautiful bays.
Because the entire island is surrounded by bays, you can always find one that is perfectly sheltered from the wind and waves of the moment.
Antipaxos – Parga (11 nautical miles) From Antipaxos we cross over to mainland Greece.
In Parga, if there is enough space, you can “moor” on the beach – characteristic of sailing in this area.
The water cab then passes by here to pick you up and take you to town.
A special experience.
Parga is a bustling village with many nice stores and restaurants. Parga – Mourtos Syvota (13 nautical miles) The area around Mourtos Sivota is known for good shelter and its insanely beautiful bays with crystal clear water and there is nothing wrong with that.
We visit several bays and take a lovely refreshing dip in each one before finally choosing one where we will spend the night. Mourtos Syvota – Agni (24 nautical miles) Another nice stretch of sailing!
We cross back over from the mainland to Corfu.
The perfect lunch spot at noon is at BBQ Bay. A beautiful bay with endless options for water sports. A lap on the jet ski, parasailing, water skiing, on a banana behind the speedboat – it’s all possible. At Agni, we dock at the pier of Nikolas Restaurant, where we enjoy a delicious meal in the evening.
Agni – Corfu Town (7 nautical miles) For a change we sail to a real town.
The harbor here is near the old fort and this is definitely a must to climb for beautiful views of the city and the sea.
Corfu Town is fairly large and therefore has something fun for everyone to do.
Shopping, visiting terraces, taking a nice walk, or just relaxing on the boat of course. Corfu Town – Gouvia Marina (4 nautical miles) Before we sail back to our home port, we make a stop at the islet of Vido, just off the coast of Corfu Town.
A last swim in the lovely water and then a nice bit of sailing until we return to the starting point of the sailing vacation.
What a great vacation this was…
From Corfu you sail to the most beautiful bays and beaches of this area. Green nature, white beaches and crystal clear waters. Average daily distance 10-25 NM. Suitable for sailors of all levels.
