The portokali fleet is expanding!

After all, there will be a new boat! Or at least, we do have to pick her up ourselves in France…. But we’re happy to do that, because what a beautiful ship this is! Family expansion of the orange fleet, then. At the end of March (2021) we are going to pick up a beautiful Beneteau Oceanis 46.1 in France. She is called PePe. A brand new yacht just rolling out of the factory. Everything is still in the plastic and the mast is not even on it yet… But wow, what a picture this is already!

It will be quite a trek to get PePe to Athens, but we are looking forward to it. We start near La Rochelle (west coast of France), then cross the Bay of Biscay, sail across the Atlantic Ocean along the entire coast of Portugal, go around all of Spain, pass the Strait of Gibraltar, wave briefly to Morocco, and then sail almost all the way across the Mediterranean, passing Algeria, Tunisia, Italy, Libya and Malta to finally end up in Greece.
Of course, we need a good crew* for that, but that’s totally fine with our own skippers. The first part, until just after Gibraltar, the eight of us sailed (Querijn, Wessel, Joris, Arianne, Meike, Daphne, Maarten & Jules) and the second part Wessel and Querijn got off and the rest sailed on. We expect to take about 3 weeks, with one stop along the way.
